Energy Saving Ideas |
By taking the measures listed below, you can save a significant portion of your heating and cooling utility bills.
Install Radiant Barrier - Save up to 17% |
It is accepted by the Department of Energy that installing radiant barrier in the attic will reduce heat gain through the ceiling by up to 42%. This reduced heat load can result in savings of up to 17% reduction on cooling utility bills. In the summer it blocks most of the radiant heat from penetrating insulation and heating up your house. In the winter it will reflect some of the lost heat back towards the living area of your house. Install products according to our written installation instructions for maximum savings.

Several of our customers have taken the time to compare electric usage, weather data, and calculate savings after installing ARMA FOIL™. Although we have no way to confirm their results, they have reported savings ranging from 12% up to 39% on energy usage. |
Seal your Ducts - They may be leaking 20% of their air. |
Leaky duct work can reduce heating and cooling system efficiency by as much as 20%. It is not uncommon for air duct systems to leak up to 20% of the air moving through them. Using duct testing equipment, we've measured systems leaking as much as 650 CFM25 or nearly 50% of their air. If your ducts are located in an attic or crawl space, this air that you have paid to heat or cool is lost before it ever reaches the interior of your building. If you have wall cavity returns, you are at an even higher risk of having significant leakage.
